Security Guard Job at Chloeta
Job Summary:
Chloeta is seeking two Security Officers for Santa Fe, NM. They will provide security, safety, and protection services against injury, theft and loss or damage of the following: personnel, patients and visitors, government property, buildings, records, equipment and supplies .
This position will work up to 8 hours on a rotating schedule Monday through Friday.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide security guard services to medical staff. Training on internal regulations or procedures will be provided, as needed.
- Provide security and safety and protection services of personnel, patients and visitors, government property, buildings, records, equipment and supplies against injury, theft and loss or damage.
- Complete checks throughout the premises at least one time per hour. When working alone, the security guard shall make complete checks throughout the premises at least one time per hour.
- Provide internal and/or external building security, patrol buildings and grounds, check unauthorized or suspicious persons, and restrain any belligerent or intoxicated individuals if needed. Secure all windows, watch for smoke, fire, and other unsafe situations throughout the facility. During the weekends, ensure all doors are locked except for the front entrance.
- Ensure all GSA vehicles are locked and secured.
- Assist visitors and patients by confirming all guests sign in and provide information relative to disturbances within or adjacent to the building.
- Check all outdoor/indoor security lighting and parking lighting to ensure all are working properly and report issues through the appropriate chain of command.
- Assist medical personnel as directed in handling emergency cases, such as assisting in restraining aggressive and agitated patients.
- Assist with front greeter desk coverage.
- Enforce hospital parking rules, monitors ambulance, and employee/patient parking areas.
- Work independently without close supervision and make independent decisions. Exercise initiative and sound judgment in the day-to-day operation of the facility.
- Be well-poised, tactful, diplomatic, and exercise good judgment under stress.
- Maintain the peace in event of unusual events or behavior from staff, patients, and visitors.
- Be firm in applying protective procedures, methods, and techniques.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Authoritative verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
Education and Experience:
- Required: Must be over the age of twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Required: Basic knowledge and training in CPR, basic first aid techniques, fire extinguish use, report writing, search and seizure techniques and communicating with the general public. Security guards are to be trained in dealing with violent and abusive persons.
- Required: Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently.
- Required: Must have a current, valid driver's license in the State of New Mexico.
- Preferred: Previous experience is a plus but not required.
- Preferred: Security Officer Training Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
- Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing while monitoring the facility and using surveillance equipment.
- Exposure to inclement weather conditions and the healthcare environment (being exposed to hazardous conditions/pathogens).
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times and be able to bend, lift, and pull.
- This position requires extended periods of being on your feet and prolonged work sitting at a desk operating a computer.
- At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.
- At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:
This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check (state and federal), drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.
Drug and Alcohol Testing:
To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing at the beginning of employment, as well as after commencement of employment where there is reasonable suspicion of intoxication, or following an automobile or other accident, or as part of a company or facility-wide random drug screen process.
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA):
Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.
Emergency Response:
Every Chloeta employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official Duty Station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official Position Description (PD). Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
