The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, property management, daily revenue audit functions, a portion of general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and other close duties as assigned. - Manage owner accounting function related to property management division; including
- Supervise timely posting of owner statement transactions
- Supervise completion of monthly owners statements and payments
- Work with the manager of the Rental Management Program
- Complete balance sheet account reconciliations related to property management division
- Revenue audit function including
- Facilitate timely and accurate completion of daily revenue and daily labor reports
- Facilitate monthly budget and forecast loader files for daily revenue and labor reports
- Assist in training night audit associates and reviewing daily processes
- Complete house account allocations and city ledger account clearings related to revenue audit function
- Complete daily credit card and cash reconciliation, including find/fixing any discrepancies
- Complete balance sheet account reconciliations related to revenue audit function
- Daily Cash Management Functions
- Participate in the timely and accurate closing of month end
- Participate in the timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations
- Participate in monthly owner reporting requirements, ensure on-time and accurate delivery of reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting tasks; work with Assistant Director of Finance to implement these improvements
- Cross-train with Assistant Director of Finance function to backfill position as needed
- Coordinate with team members across the organization involved with the accounts receivable function to ensure on-time collections; follow up as needed with customers to meet A/R KPIs
- Perform all other duties as required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent business experience
- 1-3 years experience in a comparable role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Previous audit and account reconciliation experience
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to work under a deadline
- General comfort in learning new technology and teaching others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel Skills
- Experience with Oracle accounting software preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable working in teams and independently
