MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security services is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to join our high-performing, service-focused, and fun HR team. In this role, you will serve as the main point of contact for employee health and welfare benefits for the company. The position is based out of our corporate office in downtown Spartanburg, South Carolina.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group medical, health spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Conduct benefits orientations and ensure employees understand the available benefits offerings and enrollment process.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life, and other related benefit claims.
  • Maintain the employee benefits administration system and work with the payroll team to ensure benefits changes are transmitted and updated appropriately in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the broker/carrier representatives.
  • Assist in the design, communication and management of the annual open enrollment process.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrators. Follow up on claims.
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, and FMLA.
  • Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, and new-hire and absentee reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and benefit compliance requirements such as ACA reporting, 1095 distribution, 5500 filings, audits, and non-discrimination testing.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Support merger and acquisition due diligence and integration from the employee benefits and human resources perspective.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 3+ experience administering group health and welfare benefit programs.
  • Experience managing a self-funded medical benefits plan.
  • Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or Alight benefit management system a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a service-first mentality.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a team player.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, establish trust and credibility, and act with complete integrity.

Must have the ability to travel as needed, up to 20%. Some overnight travel may be expected.
