Sr. Dir., US Marketing Immunology (launch product Rheumatology)

Role & Function

Sobi is seeking a passionate, patient-centric, talented marketer for the role of Senior Director, US Marketing for the upcoming launch of a Phase 3 asset. You will play a critical role in developing and executing the pre-launch and launch strategies for this asset. You will lead cross-functional teams to develop disease and brand marketing, leveraging expertise in disease-state strategy, market and patient segmentation, and brand promotion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully launching and promoting therapies in the rheumatology space.
This role will start as an individual contributor but as we move closer to launch will lead a team of 2-3 marketers.
This role is flexible on location, with a preference near Waltham, MA and Raleigh, NC. #Li-Remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-launch:
    • Act as U.S. Brand Launch Lead responsible for marketing and commercial success of the launch
    • Lead and develop the overall U.S. disease state strategy and campaign for chronic refractory gout, including market research, competitive analysis, and key stakeholder insights
    • Develop the initial U.S. brand promotion strategy, positioning, core message concepts and campaigns for a Sobi product, in close collaboration with cross-functional partners, that are aligned with the overall disease state strategy and Sobi values
    • Develop and execute pre-launch professional education initiatives and market shaping, including unmet need awareness, speaker training, and KOL engagement, to build awareness and excitement for the upcoming launch of a Sobi product
    • Conduct market research to understand the unmet needs of HCPs and patients in the chronic refractory gout space, and use insights to inform the plan
    • Execute commercial advisory board meetings to support disease and market insights to inform launch plan
    • Partner and align with cross-functional and global partners to establish launch readiness milestones and timelines, ensuring all aspects of the launch plan are executed on time and within budget
  • Post-launch:
    • Lead branded marketing efforts for a Sobi product candidate asset in the U.S., including all HCP and Patient marketing efforts, field materials, conferences, meetings and events
    • Lead development, creation and implementation of branded omni-channel HCP and patient promotional initiatives
    • Identify and address drivers and obstacles to brand adoption among target HCPs and Patients to inform brand strategy and franchise planning
    • Develop, refine and evolve core disease and promotional campaigns for HCPs and patients that correspond to brand needs and market insights
    • Collaborate with field teams to identify best practices and uncover needs/trends and build relationships to improve consistency of brand strategy execution
    • Partner with analytics and market research to distill insights, validate business opportunities, optimize marketing mix, and monitor return on investment (ROI) of marketing programs
    • Think holistically about the business and closely monitor performance against key metrics, taking accountability for driving success of initiatives over the long-term in a competitive market
    • Lead all national congress participation, including contracting, booth design, and internal coordination
  • Additional:
    • Drive and support development of key meetings, such as Launch and National Sales Meetings
    • Cultivate strong relationships and drive collaboration with all cross functional partners including sales, global commercial, regulatory, legal, analytics, market research, competitive intelligence, patient advocacy, patient services, field reimbursement, medical affairs, and market access
    • Manage vendors and marketing budget
    • Collaborate to create and implement strategies with the Immunology Leadership Team both in North America and Global team

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; preferably in business, marketing or the sciences
    • 12+ years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience, including 5+years in marketing roles of increasing scope and people management responsibility
    • Prior launch experience, including leading core marketing startegy and execution for launch
    • Demonstrated experience establishing cross-functional project objectives and tactics
    • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, managing through ambiguity
    • Self-starter who functions well both independently or within a team. Demonstrated ability to lead without authority
    • Strong project, vendor, and agency management track record, including resource allocation and fiscal management
    • Experience in managing complex projects through Legal, Medical and Regulatory Approval
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels
    • Experience managing small or large teams of direct reports, and ability to influence without authority in a matrixed environment
  • Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • MBA in relevant field
    • Experience working in Rheumatology
    • Experience working in a buy and bill access environment
    • Experience in HCP and Patient Marketing, Digital Marketing, Market Access, or Insights roles
    • Rare disease experience
  • The base salary pay range for this role is $207,000-$270,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
