Job Description:
Perform a wide variety of duties including implementation of control algorithms in software, development of software data file structures, terminal display formatting and software for data transmission with detailed emphasis on programming using assembly level languages, PLC languages, Visual C++ and other higher level languages. Also must be able to develop, implement and employ debugging and maintenance software in the development and maintenance of company products and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities/Complexities:
  • Apply ingenuity in programming, hardware/software integration and systems diagnostics to support machine-based control systems.
  • Develop and maintain the programs and codes for the operations of company’s machines.
  • Develop and deploy debugging and maintenance software for company products and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with sales personnel, customers, service technicians and other departments to assist with developing engineering and functional system specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive program documentation for diagnostics, information systems, data collection and communication with other peripheral equipment.
  • Act as a liaison to production assembly, service, engineering personnel and system suppliers to furnish information and documentation about software controls.
  • Assist in the production of system operation manuals and diagnostic aids for customers and service technicians.
  • Perform moderately complex troubleshooting/diagnostics remotely with field representatives or customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field
  • 1+ years’ controls system or electrical validation experience in a manufacturing, production or related environment (Those with more experience will be considered for more senior level)
  • Candidates with a High School Diploma/GED Equivalent and extensive experience in a control’s/software role within a manufacturing environment will be considered.
