Innovation Montessori Ocoee is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Speech-Language Pathologist. This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with the Orange County Public Schools instructional salary schedule.

JOB SUMMARY

The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluating, prescribing, and remediating students who meet State eligibility requirements for the Speech-Language Impaired program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are essential to this position:

Conduct screening procedures: Administer appropriate screening instruments, adapt procedures for diverse populations, score and interpret results, and provide recommendations accordingly.

Perform evaluation procedures: Independently select suitable assessment tools, consider relevant factors, and adhere to instrument guidelines while scoring assessments.

Interpret and integrate test results: Synthesize information from test results and behavioral observations, develop diagnostic impressions, and make appropriate recommendations.

Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Create specific, measurable long-term goals and short-term objectives within reasonable and necessary parameters.

Select and utilize intervention materials: Identify and implement appropriate remediation strategies for communication and related disorders.

Monitor student progress: Develop and implement data collection systems to periodically evaluate students' communicative functioning.

Modify educational plans: Interpret and utilize data to make adjustments and ensure students' needs are met effectively.

Schedule and prioritize service activities: Arrange and manage direct and indirect services, maintain student records, and track attendance.

Evaluate adaptive equipment: Assess the need for and effectiveness of adaptive equipment related to communication disorders.

Fulfill additional responsibilities: Participate in assignments, tasks, and functions related to ESE programs as assigned by the Supervisor.

Attend meetings and training sessions: Attend departmental, school, and district meetings/trainings as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should possess the following:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with school-based and district staff regarding students' education.
• Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with professional staff and the school community.
• Strong organizational and independent planning skills to deliver services efficiently.
• Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data.
• Basic computer system operation skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Hold a Florida Department of Education Certification in Speech-Language Impaired.

OR

Hold Florida Licensure for Speech-Language Pathology.
