Sr. Agile Project Manager/Sr. Scrum Master – Job Description

The Sr. Agile Project Manager/Sr. Scrum Master is a non-supervisory role that will lead and guide teams in embracing and demonstrating an Agile mindset, principles, and practices in delivering industry-changing technology solutions. You will work closely with development teams, product owners, and stakeholders in leveraging and integrating Agile practices from various industry recognized frameworks to deliver value with predictability and consistent quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate program level planning and coordination events (including but not limited to quarterly planning, scrum of scrums, retrospectives, and system demos)
  • As a servant-leader, guide and motivate teams to deliver with predictability and consistent quality
  • Partner with Product Managers, Business Product Owners, Architects, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to align strategy and execution
  • Champion agile practices and principles by coaching, mentoring, and training leaders, teams, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and orchestrate communications, negotiations, and agreements
  • Coach Product Managers, Business Product Owners, Architects, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders on agile principles, values, and mindset
  • Leverage feedback and empirical methods to improve forecasting and commitments
  • Utilize lean and agile metrics to identify opportunities to improve predictability, quality, flow, and value
  • Encourage open communication and transparency to keep the leaders, teams, and stakeholders informed and aligned with progress
  • Promote continuous improvement within the Program and teams supported by metrics
  • Maintain agile lifecycle management and portfolio management tools and dashboards to efficiently capture and communicate accurate information
  • Collaborate with Product Management to maintain product roadmaps and backlogs and support short and long-term release planning, leadership visibility, and feature prioritization
  • Cultivate an environment of learning and innovation
  • Embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and shifting priorities

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Scrum master certification (CSM) or PMI-ACP (or industry recognized equivalent)
  • 8+ years of information technology and/or business experience
  • 6+ years Scrum Master or similar experience
  • 1+ years of Agile Coaching or similar experience
  • Track record of coaching and mentoring
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with large, complex projects that cross business units
  • Experience using or familiar with more than one agile lifecycle management tool (i.e., Jira, Azure DevOps, Broadcom/Rally, etc.)
  • Strong facilitation and training skills
  • A self-starter, problem solver, communicative, facilitative, assertive, situationally aware, enthusiastic, and continually improving
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong orientation to execution, customer satisfaction, and delivering outcomes
  • Be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Experience in the staffing industry is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with healthcare in clinical settings would be a plus.
