Sr. Full Stack Application Developer

As a Barclays Senior Full Stack Application Developer, you’ll participate in the end-to-end development delivery of Prime Portal applications, exploring new technical areas, research, and hands on front-end & backend technology stack (java). As a part of Markets & Research Technology Team, you will work on pricing systems that can quickly normalize and summarize trading state across multiple markets to inform traders and algorithms, and risk systems that can calculate business risk across a broad set of international products and firm holdings.

What will you be doing?

• Developing application and components requirements applying object-oriented concepts (SOLID), design patterns and framework constructs
• Designing & Process (10%) – working with Prime architect to align with the strategic 3-year architectural plan
• Conducting and leading Test Automation & DevOps (10%) – delivering software with high coverage on all levels of test pyramid
• Building code and deliver binary using continuous integration platform with compliance on PMD, checkstyles and findbugs
• Providing L3 support (20%) – Assisting in, monitoring, and troubleshooting of both production and non- production environments
• Addressing any client/trader/user queries promptly; minimize impact to business in case of production issues
• Handling production issues in matured way; provide/implement tactical solutions to minimize impact to business followed by strategic solutions
• Imparting hands-on experience of the top-to-bottom technologies of the stack or equivalent development area

What we’re looking for:

• Expertise on Java 8 or higher with focus on lambda, concurrency, and collections
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• Knowledge of micro services architecture & implementation
• Hands on front end as well as backend technology stack (Java) experience

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Experience with HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Angular and user access delegation
• Familiarity with build & deployment tools (Git, Nexus, Team City, maven)
• Expertise in containerized deployment (AWS, OpenShift or similar)
• Knowledge of user access delegation (Oauth)
