The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is in need of Substitute Teachers for the 2022-2023 School Year. Applicants must be certified teachers with a valid DPI license or hold a valid substitute license through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. If an applicant does not have a sub license, but has a bachelor's degree and is willing to complete an online program, the individual may be able to obtain a sublicense for the assignment.

The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is in need of Substitute Teachers for the 2022-2023 School Year. The rate of pay is:
- $130.00 per full-day assignment
- $65.00 per half-day assignment
Position may be eligible for free access to District Wellness Center.
Position Requirements:
- Implement existing lesson plans in a manner that ensures the integrity of academic time and motivates students to learn and participate.
- Instructs students regarding a variety of classroom topics and courses of instructions.
- Follow Lesson plans as required by school and WAWM district policy.
- Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students in accordance with lesson plans.
- Address the various learning styles of students accordingly.
- Model correct use of spoken and written English language.
- Demonstrate professional practices in teaching.
For Long-term assignments (not day to day substitute teaching), you may be required to develop lesson plans; create, administer, and grade tests/assignments; participate in parent-teacher conferences; and attend school related functions. PLEASE NOTE: activities may occur outside of normal school hours.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with WAWM policy, state , and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure adequate supervision of students and the classroom environment to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and school property.
- Remain in classroom and monitor students at all times.
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to school principal or school personnel immediately.
- May supervise students in out-of-class settings (e.g., assemblies, lunchroom, schoolyard)
- Experience with urban students in a technology-rich, personalized environment is preferred.
