In addition to providing direct support to the infrastructure on site, you will be a member of a dispersed team providing remote helpdesk support. This work is performed in an Active Directory mixed physical/virtual environment. In addition to supporting the internal network, your duties include providing administration support to other Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) networks. You are considered essential requiring the ability to be recalled in little to no advance notice. Most work is conducted during normal business hours, but periodically work may be required outside those times, including occasional weekends. Occasional INCONUS travel, generally no more than 10 days, may be required. Upon hire, you should anticipate 3-4 weeks of training in the Northern Virginia area. HOW A WINDOWS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Provide Tier I, II, and III system administration support.
- Monitor authentication, email, file/print servers for errors.
- Perform customer service tasks such as resetting, enabling, archiving, or unlocking accounts.
- Setup workstations for new employees.
- Assist users with scanning and printing.
- Maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Create, disable, or archive user accounts according to approved requests.
- Maintain Active Directory accounts, groups, and permissions.
- Provide VTC support on multiple networks as needed.
- Assist with accounting for systems on IT hand receipt.
- Report network outages and monitored trouble tickets.
- Complete WSUS updates.
- Re-image desktop/laptops as needed.
- Update accountability of office systems at dispersed sites.
- Update software on deployable laptops.
- Update and test pending new desktop image for functionality and completeness prior to deployment.
- Assist with installation of network cabling.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Required Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Required Technical Skills: Must be certified in Security+; Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2016 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2016, Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware; Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and data backup technologies - knowledge of communication security (COMSEC) integration
- Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret/SCI Eligibility
- Required Skills and Abilities: Highly motivated, self-starter with great communications skills; effective problem solver; able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel); Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
