A leading professional development and networking company is looking for a Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing storage-related fixes, escalations if required, and communication back to level 1 support. The ideal candidate has overall engineering experience. The company offers a great work environment!

Systems Engineer Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $55-$75/hr
  • Worksite: Leading professional development and networking (Carpinteria, CA 93013)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
  • 40 hours/week, 12 Month Assignment

Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot storage systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Participate in storage deployments on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Maintain & monitor storage and related systems.
  • Proactive and reactive systems maintenance.
  • Peer reviews for planned changes (change management).
  • Contribute to & improve documentation and runbooks.
  • Backup/restore operations.
  • Work as a part of the storage team taking over requests and solving issues that are handed off from level 1 support as well as working on new implementations.
  • Be part of a global on-call rotation that uses the follow-the-sun model.

Systems Engineer Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of overall engineering experience.
  • 3+ years in infrastructure engineering (computer, network, storage).
  • 2+ years in MacOS and LinuxOS.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Azure IaaS.
  • Experience in administrating Enterprise storage systems is preferred.
  • Experience with storage designs & deployments is preferred.
  • Experience with hypervisors – Hyper-V and/or ESXi is preferred.
  • Experience in storage capacity planning and monitoring is preferred.
  • Experience in incident handing & change management is preferred.
  • Experience with storage system performance analysis troubleshooting & resolution of complex problems is preferred.
  • Experience with backup/restore and archiving of data in a large environment is preferred.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python or PowerShell are preferred.
  • Knowledge of network technologies is preferred.
  • Analytical thinking and solution-oriented working is preferred.
  • Enterprise infrastructure.
  • Client OS (Win/Linux/Mac).
  • Self-motivated/Driven.
