Maintenance Specialist IV (Maintenance Specialist)

This position performs highly complex (senior-level) maintenance and staff services work for the Property Management Program, part of the General Services Office of the Procurement and General Services Section. Work involves minor maintenance functions and modular furniture work. May train, lead, assign, and/or prioritize the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

This position:

  • Disassembles, assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains modular furniture systems.

  • Receives deliveries, ensures shipments are complete, and delivers new items as appropriate.

  • Maintains operational stocks of conventional furniture and modular furniture components in an agency warehouse, identifying and pulling inventory to meet project requirements.

  • Operates an agency vehicle for short and long distances for receipt, storage, and issue of equipment and furniture.

  • Performs general office maintenance work to support office moves, reconfigurations, and general staff services.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


This position requires:

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, with two years of experience in a field related to assignment.

  • Experience relevant to the position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Skill: Operating a motor vehicle in a safe and courteous manner in compliance with traffic laws.

Ability: Satisfy the requirements to maintain fully qualified driving status.

Additional job details:

This position requires regular work attendance. The position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. If eligible, the employee must have a secure, dedicated workspace with reliable broadband internet service. The ideal candidate must be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

  • State laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements.

  • Standard warehouse procedures to receive, store, and issue stock.

  • Basic mathematical procedures, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using office calculator and/or computer software applications.

  • Modular furniture configuration, design, and assembly.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

  • Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
