Eaton’s ESSG CPSD PRD Power Reliability Division division is currently seeking a Team Lead - 1st shift (Machine Shop) to join our team in South Milwaukee, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $31.36 per hour. The core hours are 6:30 am - 2:30 pm.

What you’ll do:
The department one Team Lead is primarily responsible for coordinating work and facilitate timely delivery of components to the other departments within the facility. Ideally the team lead is a proficient machinist that can assist, backfill, train, and provide secondary alternatives to support production goals. The team lead will act as part of the leadership team to direct and receive communication to multiple functions and stakeholders throughout the facility.
Assist department supervisor in maintaining workflow, assigning work, and instructing other employees.- Assure all employees working in the area are fully trained for the task(s) assigned. This training includes Safety, PPE, Production and Process awareness. Where training deficiencies are discovered coordinate with the Dept Supervisor to provide necessary training.
- Effectively conduct Tool Box Meeting(s) at the start of every shift, emphasizing any special concerns regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost or Productivity.
- Field questions from the hourly workforce and redirect resources at required to meet changing needs or conditions.
- Inform the supervisor of any issue(s) that poses a risk to successful performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost or Productivity.
- Be knowledgeable in the set-up, adjustment, and operation of all departmental equipment. This includes CNC and Manual machine setup, identifying various grades of metals, locating fixturing, and knowledge of alternative routings for components.
- Appropriately leverage processing lead times, capacities, and workstation constraints to efficiently supply internal customers across the facility.
- Support various departments in quality, inspection, new product and new process development.
- Check material availability and expedite shortages with production control and other functions related to the MRP system.

Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of reading machining and engineering prints
- Minimum of 5 years of manual and/or CNC machine setup experience and fixture installation.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the South Milwaukee, WI location. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
Skills:
- Must be able to walk/stand for an 8-hour shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to lift 44 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
- Attained Machinist II accreditations through the internal assessment process
- Ability to use and operate tools and equipment consistent with this job.
- Must be familiar with production schedules.
- Working knowledge of operational practices, design, and functions.
- Must be capable of using (or learning) SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail.
- Must have some familiarity and experience with LEAN tools.
