Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer. The Technical Writer will assist a federal client on a cyber security and privacy program. This position is remote.


Duties/Responsibilities of the Technical Writer:

  • Lead the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of:

o PMO documents to include deliverables such as status reports, performance dashboards, meeting minutes, project management plans (i.e., PMP, communication, QCP).

o Technical and cyber security documents including incident response plan, security assessment and authorization documentation (as applicable), software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation, authority to operate (ATO) documentation, etc.

  • Produce templates, implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provides field, data definition, and data flow documentation and formats technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.
  • Make recommendations for improvement and proactively improve related business processes.
  • Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
  • Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.


Requirements of the Technical Writer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer discipline or management field.
  • Five or more years of technical writing / editing experience within cybersecurity environments (10 or more years’ experience if no degree).
  • Must possess professional Technical Writer certification; a 6-month grace period will be provided.
  • Possess the ability to work independently and create draft policies and templates based on requirements.
  • The ability to convert narrative text into a more readable form with better flow.
  • Use of terminology that both improves flow and makes sense to the reader.
  • Ability to understand and be able to interpret PMO and cyber security documents.
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Word and MS PowerPoint.


Compensation:

  • $60,000-$70,000 **depending on experience**
  • Full benefits (Medical, dental, vision, 401k, and ect)
