Technology and Training Coordinator Job at Fremont Contract Carriers, Inc.
The primary responsibility for the Technology and Training Coordinator for FCC is to study, train, and assist with all technology aspects for FCC. This will be accomplished through a variety of formats that will encompass the continuing education and development of the workforce in the technology and safety arena.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Mobile Communication Vendor to troubleshoot hardware problems
o Will be the first point of contact for our drivers experiencing mobile communication problems to
determine whether it is a hardware problem, software problem or if it is training issue. Will work
directly with ELD Provider's customer service to resolve performance issues.
o Assist with ELD and peripheral equipment inventory.
o Responsible for vehicle setup in ELD portal and TMS (McLeod)
o Review Navigation and provide feedback thru Portal
o Performance Monitoring unit setup
o Vehicle Data Configurator / Setup engine and connection type.
o Scanning/ training and inventory management.
o Responsible for inventory for ELD units and working with department heads on new orders
o Manage RMA's of ELD units.
- Driver training
o Responsible for new driver training on all ELD equipment and peripheral devices.
o Assist with Simulator training for all drivers.
o Conduct Safety feature training for new truck assignments
o Responsible for navigation training
o Train and conduct pre/post-trip inspections with all drivers
o Serve as a backup for new hire road tests
- Work with Camera provider
o Troubleshoot hardware problems
o Work with Driver Managers, Drivers and Shop to route to shop for camera issues
o Track inventory and work with Shop, Parts and VP of safety for new orders
o Assist with driver coaching for camera events
- Work with Prepass
o Manage inventory and assign devices to drivers
o Review fines and work with Prepass to resolve issues
o Troubleshoot and determine if unit is faulty
- Manage inventory for Epicvue - Million Mile Satellites.
- Keep FCC "Smart Way" Certified
o FCC became "Smart Way" certified in 2008 and it requires data on FCC's carbon footprint to be submitted annually.
- Ensure FCC remains CARB compliant
o California has been the country's state leader in regulating emissions in the trucking industry. Ensure we are compliant with existing and future regulations with all state regulatory agencies.
- Answer phones and assist drivers with questions and provide counsel
- Serve as a backup to all other safety positions.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Will be required to perform other duties and special projects as requested, directed or assigned by management.

- Ability to develop educational curriculum for training sessions including a method for measuring the
comprehension of the lesson plan by the trainee.
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both oral and written
- Possesses strong data, analytical and strategic planning skills, including solid attention to detail.
- Solve problems and make decisions independently and proactively.
- Manages multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Use computers and software programs proficiently.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures and ability and willingness to learn technology and training techniques.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant degree or equivalent work experience in transportation preferred
