Overview:
The Tele-Assessment team assessor is responsible for assessing and identifying psychosocial, educational, developmental, and behavioral functioning of patients through established care finding mechanisms. The Tele-Assessment team assessor responds remotely to requests from the facility for phone or tele-assessments in a timely manner (within 30 minutes) and completes a clinical assessment using DSM IV criteria to ensure that the patient receives the appropriate level of care to meet the patient’s needs. Remote - Greater Houston, TX or Columbus, OH Area
The Tele-Assessment team assessor is responsible for assessing and identifying psychosocial, educational, developmental, and behavioral functioning of patients through established care finding mechanisms. The Tele-Assessment team assessor responds remotely to requests from the facility for phone or tele-assessments in a timely manner (within 30 minutes) and completes a clinical assessment using DSM IV criteria to ensure that the patient receives the appropriate level of care to meet the patient’s needs. This is a 100% work from home position.
- Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, handoff to the assessment department, and appropriate follow up activity.
- Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
- Demonstrates excellent customer serviced skills in assisting patients, physicians, and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
- Responds in a timely manner (within 30 minutes)
Education: A degree in nursing.
Experience: Preferred minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, direct practice in mental health treatment, crisis intervention.
License: RN license to practice in OH and TX. Valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own auto.
Additional Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours and overtime, ability to meet typing keyboard expectations.
Location: Must reside in the greater Houston, TX or Columbus, OH area.
