Job Description:
This position will be based in North Platte, Ne. This position is subject to both pre-employment and random DOT drug testing. This position is responsible for taking product changes and all valve alignments (manifold and tanks) inside the terminal property to assure the proper handling, storage and integrity of products received and pumped by pipeline and truck transport.

Responsibilities include:
  • Operate pipeline and terminal pumping equipment when required
  • Ship and receive pipeline cleaning pigs when required
  • Bleed or flush lines that contain refined product
  • Prepare daily inventory reports and terminal balance reports
  • Train truck drivers on loading/unloading procedures and enforce Safety requirements
  • Communicate to customers information needed regarding their throughput and inventory
  • Sample and analyze products and maintain a high standard of quality control on all product received, stored and shipped
  • Change corrosion strips
  • Conduct safety watches with outside contractors as advised by management
  • Ensure all environmental and safety equipment is working properly
  • Facility housekeeping
  • Backup line locating and line crossings
  • Ability to do minor maintenance
  • Assist in semi-annual main line block valve servicing and DOT Safety Inspections
  • Ability to change filters at UPRR
  • Ability to read Rectifiers on the ROW
  • Ability to Maintain Pipeline Right Away and Pipeline Markers
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • DOT Operator Qualification will be required following employment
  • Electrical/electronic background preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience in terminal/pipeline operations is preferred
  • Must be able to work with hazardous materials including propane, gasoline, fuel oils and petroleum additives
  • Must be able and willing to respond to callouts and emergencies after hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able and willing to work hours outside normal hours as scheduled and required by management
  • Must be able to work independently as well with others
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to adapt to rapidly changing conditions
  • Computer experience preferred
  • Ability to operate a tractor with front end loader and rear blade is preferred
  • Initiative and organization abilities for meeting deadlines and establishing priorities required

This position will require an individual to hold a valid drivers license.
