Bancroft is currently seeking a Music Therapist to join our NeuroRehab team located in Mt Laurel, NJ. Responsibilities:
Maintains all levels of supervision for assigned persons served at specific Program site as outlined in the IPP (Individual Program Plan), Annex A and/or program descriptions. Follows established Bancroft policies and procedures and applicable state/local/federal regulations at all times.
As needed actively participates in team/departmental meetings. Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) process in conjunction with the Individual Service Plan (ISP). Communicates results of assessments and treatment plans to the persons served, team members, family, etc. Provides persons served progress reports for review and discussion at three-month review meeting
Provides crisis intervention, as needed, through de-escalation techniques, staff support, and assistance. Follows state-approved emergency procedures and utilizes Bancroft-approved crisis intervention techniques at all times.
Works directly with assigned Interns throughout course of assignment. Provides daily advice and guidance to Interns and strives to increase Intern’s knowledge of discipline-specific methods and techniques.
Serves as a role model to persons served by projecting a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others.
Performs other direct service, consultative, assessment, and supportive duties specific to music therapy as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments. Qualifications:

Position Summary:
To implement music therapy as part of the therapeutic services for Bancroft NeuroRehab.
Maintains all levels of supervision for assigned persons served at specific Program site as outlined in the IPP (Individual Program Plan), Annex A and/or program descriptions. Follows established Bancroft policies and procedures and applicable state/local/federal regulations at all times.
- Provides group and individual music therapy to adults with cognitive impairments, multiple developmental disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injury and other neurologic disorders.
- Develops, when appropriate, ensembles that further music therapy goals.
- Implements integrated music therapy to persons served in areas of education, self-care and hygiene as appropriate.
- Plans, implements and documents individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRP) and goals respective to music therapy.
- Provides cognitive rehabilitation therapy and utilizes music therapy techniques to help clients achieve functional goals and address cognitive deficits.
- Utilizes adaptive technology and music technology to achieve IRP goals and objectives
- Develops and formulates therapeutic plans that identify specific objectives, resources, strategies, and contain a specific plan for the assessment of the plan’s overall effectiveness;
- Maintains awareness of and utilizes established day treatment or behavioral plans regarding the incorporation of music therapy and treatment-specific programs.

Ensures the site operates in accordance with the organization’s quality standards for safety, security, and cleanliness, as well as applicable state licensing and accreditation standards.
Works directly with assigned Interns throughout course of assignment. Provides daily advice and guidance to Interns and strives to increase Intern’s knowledge of discipline-specific methods and techniques.
Maintains an awareness of current and changing trends, techniques, methods, and research in the field of music therapy by attending learning workshops and professional seminars, reading journals, attending in-service workshops, external conferences in area of specialty/clinical discipline, etc.

Master’s degree in Music Therapy and Board Certification in Music Therapy required. Prior experience working with individuals with brain injuries, cognitive deficits or developmental disabilities preferred. Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) Training preferred.
