JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for loading and unloading merchandise, mapping and driving best route for delivery to stores. Schedule pick-ups and drop-offs within and outside of the State of Michigan at specified locations, communicate to stores on delivery times, maintain all required paperwork (legal and company) with regards to truck/trailer. Overnight travel will be required (Leave Sunday/Monday from Petoskey Distribution Center and return Thursday/Friday, home weekly.). Kilwins provides lodging and daily meal allowances.
Starting pay $28.00/HR

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Personally represents Kilwins Core Values, Core Purpose, Core Operating Standards, and Brand Promise.
  • Provides integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and purpose of Kilwins Brand.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading trailer with merchandise in good condition at specified location and specified date and time.
  • Responsible for completing paperwork required by law and to conform to all FMCSA requirements.
  • Establish best and most direct routes on all trips and make decisions on road conditions in certain areas at certain times of the year.
  • Maintain logs and proper paperwork on all truck/trailer maintenance to include but not limited to post-trip inspections, log books and receipts.
  • Review loads with shipping and receiving department, prior to departure.
  • Notifies Logistics Manager of any damaged items or discrepancies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must be able to read map and make decisions on best route and road conditions.
  • Must have good organizational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Possess mechanical skills for basic diagnosis of problems and safety issues on equipment.
  • Must be able to operate electric pallet jacks, lift gates and other material handling equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must have high school diploma
  • Must have CDL Class A license
  • Must be forklift certified. (certified by Kilwins post hire)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
  • Must be able to navigate stairs with heavy hand cart loads repeatedly during store deliveries.
  • Must wear steel-toed boots (company reimbursement)
