UWCCR – City Year Sacramento Engagement Coordinator Job at AmeriCorps
City Year Sacramento helps students and schools succeed, while preparing the next generation of civically engaged leaders who can work across lines of difference. Diverse teams of City Year members provide support to students, classrooms and the whole school. Schools that partner with City Year are up to two to three times more likely to improve in English and math assessments, and the more time students spend with City Year members, the more they improve on social, emotional and academic skills— skills that help students thrive in school and contribute to their community. Our office-based staff (including this position) plays a critical role in ensuring the fidelity and longevity of our program to maximize our positive impact in our six partner schools.
Member Duties : Jump start your outreach, community organizing, or non-profit career with on-the-job training and professional development! You will develop an Engagement Strategy focused on creating and strengthening relationships with future and past City Year members. You’ll build out engagement plans for local high schools and community colleges to generate interest in serving with City Year, use City Year National’s best practices to develop an outreach plan for alumni of the program, and create an evergreen arc of the year calendar for engagement opportunities. You’ll strengthen your communication, collaboration, and project management skills. At the same time you’ll build a strong network of professional connections you can leverage throughout your career, as well as participate in professional development opportunities alongside City Year staff.
