Job Title: Vice President of Delivery
Work Location: Hybrid – Remote & Onsite in Vienna, VA
Clearance Required: Top Secret (or eligible to obtain)
The selected individual will report to the Alpha Omega (CGO or CEO) and provide leadership from strategic account planning through execution and ensure consistent, high-quality client delivery and execution. They will be responsible for shaping and leading the delivery excellence vision and strategic direction for AOI’s customers.
The Vice President of Delivery must be an expert problem-solver and communicator who can support client relationships (in close coordination with executives and line managers who own the relationships). They will leverage the client and the firm by delivering high-quality work and supporting new or expanded business opportunities.
The Vice President of Delivery (VPD) is responsible for ensuring that the company's products and services are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the customers (In Alpha Omega, this does not change what the BU Leads and Integrator are accountable for. They are focused on the customer and accountable for service excellence, CSAT, CPARS, recompetes, organic growth). The VPD is accountable for the following Delivery Framework:
- Developing and executing in coordination with the BU leads, a delivery strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives. This includes identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing processes to track and report on progress.
- Project Management Framework: Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects consistently across all projects. The VPD ensures that project timelines, budgets, and resources are managed effectively, and that project risks are identified and mitigated.
- Resource Management: Maintaining a master list of current and future project staffing requirements and facilitating appropriate proactive planning to meet requirements. Partner with PMs and Portfolio Managers to develop and implement staffing strategies to improve project profitability and implement get well plans. Partner with HR, TA and PMs to manage the staff redeployment process i.e., staff are trained and mentored ahead of their project ending and are redeployed onto new awards or existing projects.
- Customer Experience Framework: Ensuring that customers are satisfied with the company's products and services and the company receives stellar CSAT, CPAR's, client assessments. The VPD is responsible for monitoring customer feedback, coordinating the implementation with BU leads and institutionalizing improvements to enhance customer experience across the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the delivery function. This includes identifying opportunities for process improvements, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to optimize delivery operations, the development of a PM community of interest, PM leveling, career planning, mentoring, education, and training.
In summary, the VPD is accountable for ensuring that the company delivers products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations, while optimizing delivery operations and driving continuous improvement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Play the lead contract manager role across key strategic IDIQs or BPA's. Oversees the consistent execution of program offerings and project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables across the organization; monitors program/projects from initiation through delivery especially the seamless transition on project award.
- Ensures access and availability of resources, key personnel, and resource pipeline for projects and in collaboration with BU leads defines major project roles.
- Ensure the program business model is executable and execution risks are properly identified and mitigated before award and project start.
- Support managers in developing project scopes and work plans, adjusting the timing of key deliverables and milestones nimbly as the situation requires, in coordination with BU leads.
- Extend the project delivery processes to facilitate executive (Visionary and Integrator at a minimum) oversite in a timely manner via carefully crafted processes including but not limited to ESCs, monthly financial reviews, monthly program reviews etc.
- Ensure strategic planning is conducted on a yearly basis and the strategic plan items in the area of CS and service excellence are completed via rocks over the year
- Ensure executive leadership and leadership EOS annual quarterlies are replicated immediately below the leadership team in CS to ensure the completion of yearly strategic plan via quarterly rocks.
- Development, up-skill and transition to other projects of project resources in coordination with BU Leads, well before project end minimizing RIFs
- Ensure the implementation of EOS throughout the organization until and including the project managers
- Train and develop Project Managers, Program Managers, and other client services personnel in coordination with BU leads not only with the AOI delivery framework, their skills and knowledge and technical skills but also with their leadership ability.
- Ensure the creation of a book of value published and hand delivered to each customer at a minimum only on large contracts before the end of the POP
- Conduct and participate in internal and external brainstorming sessions to continuously develop new ideas for client projects and programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 plus years of experience in managing government contracts
- Experience with a variety of contract types, e.g., CPAF/IF/FF, TM, FP, FUP, etc., would also be beneficial but not required.
- Management consulting experience working with senior level executives
- Strong communication skills to interface with senior-level customer representatives
- Strong strategic management, planning, and analytical skills for defining and framing initiatives for current and potential clients
- Strong program management execution skills, results-driven, and ability to hold the team accountable for results setting appropriate milestones along the way to validate progress
Preferred Qualifications
- Active PMP Certification
- Experience working with federal government entities and deep knowledge and experience in DHS, DOS, USDA, NOAA
- Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent
