ABOUT THE ROLE

As Biofire's VP of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality execution at scale, owning and building new core strategic operational initiatives and organizations from the ground up that enable the company to achieve its mission. You will build teams, systems, and sustainable processes that deliver excellent execution and value across all disciplines to assure customers' quality and delivery expectations are exceeded while products are manufactured at a competitive cost. You will build and lead a team of operators that sets and achieves ambitious objectives, allowing Biofire to rapidly scale with its customers. To succeed you will have built a manufacturing organization from zero to one, possess a love for setting and achieving audacious goals, built and lead excellent teams, and have a passion for quality operational execution in everything you do. .


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to day responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Defining ambitious objectives and leading teams to achieve them;
  • Develop and execute a rapidly scalable manufacturing strategy across multiple product lines that incorporate both single-piece flow and just-in-time inventory management philosophies;
  • Develop processes to regularly review, maintain, control, and report on the financial impact of the scale-up strategy and gauge performance against profit plan objectives;
  • Provide expert knowledge in both lean concepts and quality management systems to the manufacturing team;
  • Developing clear performance metrics across all tiers of the enterprise and creating visual systems to continuously track and improve against them;
  • Creating a culture of operational excellence based on the Toyota Production System(TPS), both within manufacturing teams and throughout the company, that brings rigor and focus on relentlessly driving waste out of the enterprise while focusing on the needs of the customer;
  • Partner with core functional leaders to exceed year-over-year financial targets through the execution of material and non-material cost-out projects;
  • Budgeting and resource planning to ensure the company is prepared to meet new operational challenges and capable of rapidly responding to new opportunities.

This is a full-time, salaried role with a flexible work-from-home policy. The compensation range for this role is $150,000-$225,000.

LOCATION AND HOURS

Our dog-friendly, state-of-the-art headquarters is located in beautiful Broomfield, Colorado, between Boulder and Denver. Most roles require team members to frequently collaborate in person, but you will enjoy the flexibility to work from home when you need to. We trust you to communicate with your team to make things work.
