The Vice President of Supply Chain will be primarily accountable to design and implement supply chain strategies in alignment with the company’s overall business and service goals. The incumbent will lead the company’s Material and Equipment Sourcing, Procurement, Sales and Operations Planning process, and will have primary responsibility for inbound and outbound product and raw material logistics globally. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position will work in close coordination with multiple functions across the organization to develop Demand, Supply and Distribution Resource plans to serve the company’s customers in an efficient and effective manger. Key leader in establishing and managing a network of logistical providers including rail and bulk truck carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and appropriate consulting resources. Incumbent will have direct responsibility for Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning and Order Fulfillment staff and functions.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Lead and manage all facets of the company’s material sourcing and purchasing processes.
- Lead and manage all facets of the company’s overall SOP process.
- Lead and manage the company’s Order Fulfillment function and staff.
- Partner with commercial personnel on new business development and supply chain design to support a fast growing and dynamic marketplace.
- Work in close coordination with the Executive Team on overall supply chain and logistics strategy for the business.
- Establish relationships, negotiate with, and manage logistics providers across the defined supply network.
- Coordinate inbound logistics from materials suppliers in close coordination with technical operating staff.
- Establish and implement appropriate measures and KPIs for the supply chain network to continuously refine and optimize the network.
- Provide business insight and strategic advantage where possible in the achievement of the company’s overall business goals.
- Provide forward-looking vision when designing solutions to meet current and future flexibility, scalability, exception handling, reporting, integration and automation requirements.
- Provide regular summaries and reports to the Executive Leadership Team of the status of on-going projects and elevate critical issues in a timely manner for resource allocation and decision support.
- Participates in root cause analysis to recommend enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve supply chain productivity.
- May act as a project manager on key supply chain projects.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of overall Supply Chain Experience.
- 5+ years managing global Supply Chains.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- 5+ years of development experience.
- Sourcing and purchasing experience of high-volume materials and specialty equipment.
- Experience in the international shipping (import and export) of materials and equipment.
- Rail, bulk truck and third-party transload negotiation and management experience.
- Experience in leading and managing SOP processes within a large volume business.
- Experience in using demand planning tools and statistical software.
- Experience in managing a network of container assets efficiently and effectively.
- Experience with demand planning software, finite scheduling software, international freight expediting, tracing and tracking systems.

- Ability to work across the entire supply chain (plan, source, make, deliver) with a strong competency in sourcing, procurement and logistical supply capabilities.
- Ability to develop flexible and efficient global supply chain strategies and to implement those strategies across large geographies with a lean staff.
- High level of project organization, attention to detail and time management.
- Ability to multi-task and react positively to a dynamic and growing business environment
- Ability to plan and manage large volume supply chains.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical implementation.
- Strong project leadership skills.
- Experience in vendor/supplier/partner relationship building and management.
- Experience managing freight carriers, 3PLs, and specialized technical consultants toward achieving service and cost goals.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Ability to communicate across a broad array of personnel and functions, from product loading operators up to the Board of Directors.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple project assignments.
- Outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Outstanding ability to self-manage and initiate.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within teams, including internal, external and remote staff.

The base pay range for this role is $150,000 to $250,000. Actual pay depends on various factors, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
