Job Description
The WAE Curriculum Specialist assists full-time Curriculum Specialists and R&D staff with course development and R&D-related tasks. The WAE Curriculum Specialist usually works off-site on an as-needed basis. The WAE Curriculum Specialist may work on one project from beginning to end or may assist with any number of tasks at various points in a project’s development. This position does not travel, but WAE Curriculum Specialists - No Travel often attend virtual meetings, pilots, and class deliveries to take notes on the delivery of course content and decisions regarding content revisions.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum development tasks, including instructional design, formatting, proofreading, slide creation, and job aid development. Responsible for clarity and style; adherence to internal style guide; accuracy of grammar, spelling, syntax, and agreement; citation of course content; application of template styles; placement of highly specialized, technical content in all training materials. (80%)
2. Attend and take notes at virtual pilots, classes, and development meetings for course development purposes; as available. (10%)
3. Other duties associated with the development of NCBRT projects. (10%)
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Any combination of experience in: Developing learner-centered training. Using the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate Storyline 360, and cloud storage and file-sharing services (such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box). Effective use of design elements in digital document and slide development, including vector drawing and creating animations in MS PowerPoint. Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style.
Special Qualifications:
  • The ability to complete assignments quickly and on short notice.
  • Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.
  • An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug screen.
