Description:IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.

Perform the major functions of plant clearance operations which consists of segregating and dispositioning new, used, and surplus materials, parts, and equipment. Perform all the general warehousing duties including sales, receiving, checking, classifying, transporting, and storing.
Basic Qualifications:
Receive material, supplies, parts, assemblies, tooling, manufacturing aids, machine tools, and equipment for storage or other disposition. Check items for identity and conformance with matching documents. Sign or initiate the necessary forms to transfer possession of property to the warehouse.

Prepare items for storage or transportation by performing such tasks as wrapping, covering, crating, boxing, cushioning, blocking, bracing, or strapping as may be required by military or Product Assurance specifications and by good warehousing practice. Verifying asset number and items on the storage request form and adding items as needed.

Select locations in the warehouse and store items using forklifts, pallet trucks, and other materials handling equipment. Move and adjust portable storage racks as required.

Complete forms for the disposal of surplus items; determine name and type of items and describe accurately; refer to material disposition forms, labels. Identify material and equipment for reuse by the
Company, for sale outside the Company, or for scrap, following standard policy guidelines.

Refer to records and consult representatives from accounting organizations to determine the value of items stored or earmarked for disposal or sale; make calculations as necessary by using prescribed formulae to determine value. Obtain clearance from government Security Officers for the disposal of items when required.



Update records in the appropriate Property Business System. Tag bin and aisle locations for ready identification after storage. Assist personnel in locating items in the warehouse, answering questions about warehousing and plant clearance procedures. Contact necessary organizations or vendors to facilitate the timely removal of surplus items from the warehouse.

Knowledge of warehousing practice, inventory procedures, and software systems; material procurement, control, and disposition procedures, Government policies and regulations concerning the handling and disposition of terminated and customer-owned equipment
surplus materials including classified materials.
Desired Skills:
Ability to operate a forklift or other materials handling equipment.
The ability to pick up 50 pounds.
Must possess a valid State of California Class C driver's license to allow for operation of company vehicles and equipment.
Must possess, or obtain within 90 days, all LMSC-issued safety licenses required by law to operate material handling equipment normally used by employees in this classification.
