RMC is hiring a Weapons and Tactics Subject Matter Expert to serve as a contract Weapons Officer for ACC Weapons and Tactics Branch (A3TW). In this position, you will apply the unique knowledge and skills as a former Weapons Officer to support the warfighter on the staff.

Role & Responsibilities:

Specific Weapons Officer duties to support the operational community and the ACC staff include:

  • Liaise and maintain strong team network with other agencies supporting the operational community on the ACC staff, including ACC/A5, ACC/A8, and ACC/A35 functional communities, as well as the specific needs of the 53d WG, USAF Weapons School, and the USAF Warfare Center.
  • Build and maintain contact lists across MAJCOMs and serve as a conduit between HAF, MAJCOM, and NAF Weapons and Tactics related organizations. This includes the 53d WG, WSEP, advanced tactical course OPRs, USAFWS, 561 WPS, AATC, and other organizations as required.
  • Prepare and deliver a variety of documentation, such as Staff Summary Sheets (SSS) and Point Papers (PPs), in accordance with the most recent versions of the Air Force Handbook and or MAJCOM guidance.
  • Provide Weapons Officer level expertise for scheduling and management of programs unique to the fighter enterprise, including:
    • Weapons System Evaluation Programs (WSEP) for air-to-air munitions (Combat Archer)
    • WSEP for air-to-munitions (Combat Hammer)
    • AMRAAM Warfighter Course
    • AF Combat Ammunition Center Senior Officer Course
    • AF SEEK EAGLE
    • Weapons and Tactics Conference (WEPTAC)
  • Support emerging munitions development and maintain awareness on future capabilities. Assist A5/8 and A3/5 regarding future aircraft and munitions.
  • Support CAF Air-to Air and Air-to-Ground weapons allocation, modernization, testing, and fielding.
  • Support Fighter Pod (Targeting Pods, ECM Pods, IRST Pods, HTS Pods, etc.) allocation, modernization, testing, and fielding.
  • Support advanced tactical courses such as AMRAAM Warfighter Course and AFCOMAC by coordinating schedules, attendees, funding documents, course material, and capturing lessons learned from these courses.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and track required publication updates, including AFIs 11-212, 11-214, 11-260, 11-415, the 1M-34, and others as required.

Candidate Requirements:

USAF Weapons School Graduate from A-10, F-15C, F-15E (Pilot or WSO), F-16, F-22, or F-35. Will also consider Navy F-18/F-35 Top Gun Graduates.

An active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with SAP access is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

A bachelor’s degree is required; United States Air Force (USAF) Air War College (or equivalent) master's degree highly desired.

Experience must include a minimum of five (5) years in tactical kinetic employment operations with an emphasis on integration across domains. Additional Joint, Air Staff, MAJCOM or NAF experience desired.

RMC employees may be subject to COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements in order to access government facilities.
