Role Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals for children that meet proper nutritional requirements
• Ensure the safety of all children by maintaining and tracking food allergies for each child in our center and communicates identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Adhere to proper food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures ensuring that food is stored and handled properly
• Partner with the Center Leadership team to purchase all food/supplies necessary and keep inventory records as required by local and state agencies
• Provide excellent customer service and positive attitude towards parents and children, listens and communicates effectively
• Demonstrates flexibility to the daily business need of a childcare center

Additional Responsibilities

• Able to support classrooms for lunch breaks or when needed
• Provide support to front office staff

Interactions: Child, Parents and Team

• Interact often and affectionately, by smiling, touching, and holding infants. Speak in a calm, soft and friendly manner in a close range of children
• Be available and responsive to each child’s needs
• Practice positive discipline techniques in guiding children’s behavior according to Texas Department of Family and Protective Services discipline policy
• Be supportive of children and their families during transitions at pick up and drop off times

Acknowledge parents and all home visitors. Demonstrate a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor

• Respond to parents’ comments and concerns with sensitivity, interest, and respect
• Communicate directly in a non-threatening manner to avoid conflict and gossip.

Professionalism

• Maintain confidentiality about issues concerning children, families, teacher and the and matters regarding The Learning Experience.
• Receive constructive criticism with a willingness to improve. Give feedback in a respectful manner.

Continued education by attending meetings, training sessions and other learning programs

• Ensure continuity of care for children by reporting to work on time and maintaining consistent attendance and arranging and communicating time off in advance.

Physical Demands:

• Follow state, federal, and The Learning Experience guidelines immunizations, and required health and safety training
• Ensure children’s safety while performing the following job functions:
• Frequently lift, move, or hold children with a range from 10 to 40 pounds
• Supervise and interact daily with children outdoors for extended periods in varied weather conditions
• Be able to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
• Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking
• Possesses a food manager certificate or ability to receive within 90 days of hire
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
