.JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for fund development through grant writing, donor procurement and management, and manage special events to support the ongoing operation and growth of Quigley House and its programs. Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of agency promotional campaigns, public relations efforts, and related initiatives. Maintain accurate statistics and provide timely monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports. Provide statistical reporting and fulfill annual monitoring requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing, and managing grant funding sources to meet the agency’s annual budget. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

· Successfully managing existing grants; including coordinating reports, site visits, communication, and annual reapplication for existing programs through the United Way, Victims Of Crime Act (VOCA), Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Clay County, and other funding entities.

· Working with the CEO and direct services staff to ensure all grant funded services are administered and measured appropriately and that service goals are achieved.

· Increasing funding annually through ongoing research of NEW private and state funding sources.

· Maintaining an annual grant application calendar to track deadlines and notification dates.

2. Manage donors effectively and efficiently to maximize repetition and demonstrate increased giving annually. Successful management strategies include:

· Maintaining accurate donor information and an organized donor database.

· Categorizing donors and targeting solicitation efforts based on past giving history in order to increase future giving.

· Coordinating regular correspondence and agency updates.

· Establishing and coordinating an agency annual fund.

· Identifying and cultivating new donors.

· Coordinating efforts with Board of Directors and CEO for donor solicitation.

3. Coordinate special events designed to raise funds and awareness for Quigley House and its programs. In this capacity, the Development Director’s responsibilities include:

· Working cohesively with the Fundraising Chairperson, Fundraising Committee, and President of the Board to plan and implement special events.

· Coordinating and staffing special events committee meetings in conjunction with event chairperson.

· Managing volunteers for special events.

4. Manage public relations efforts of the agency designed to increase community awareness of Quigley House programs and events, as well as to increase donor recognition. Development Director coordinates all public relation and promotion activities. Successful public relation strategies include, but are not limited to:

· Preparing and distributing semi-annual agency newsletters to inform the community and provide donor recognition.

· Developing solicitation campaigns and promotions targeting various groups in our community.

· Collecting materials for the Board of Directors Historian and maintaining accurate archive files of special events and promotions.

· Assisting in the planning and coordination of regular agency publicity with radio, print, and TV media.

5. Responsible for the overall administration of the agency’s fund development program, which minimally includes:

· Assisting the CEO and the Board of Directors in continued development of fundraising strategies (e.g. Planned Giving, new special events, ongoing training opportunities for Board, etc.).

· Maintaining the integrity and quality of donor and fund development by ensuring accurate and thorough statistics and records of services and activities, integrating the client database for statistical reporting.

· Regularly informing the CEO of program status through monthly reports and regular status meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Development Director must possess a BA/BS degree in Business, Public Relations or Communications with a history of nonprofit employment. Three to five years’ experience with demonstrated success in grant writing and fund development. Proven corporate and individual donor solicitation and management skills necessary. Fundraising, special events planning and coordination experience preferred. Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer word processing, spreadsheet and database proficiency, and statistical reporting. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed, including occasional evening and weekend hours for special events. Knowledge of Clay County, FL required. Local candidates only, please
