Job Description
Riverwalk Village at House of The Good Shephard , a premier destination for older adults in Hackettstown, New Jersey and an affiliate of FellowshipLIFE is currently seeking a Donor Relations & Foundation Associate.
As the front-line fundraiser for Riverwalk Village at House of The Good Shephard and FellowshipLIFE, the Donor Relations & Foundation Associate will work under the leadership of the Executive Director for Fellowship Foundation on educating and collaborating with residents, clients, members’ families, volunteers, and other constituencies to support the mission and vision of FellowshipLIFE.
This position aids the efforts of Fellowship Foundation with raising funds to support the ongoing improvements in our communities throughout the region, as well as our Health and Medical, Wellness, and Home Services. The Foundation advances the FellowshipLIFE mission by providing philanthropic support which benefits each community resident and older adults throughout the region through programs, services, and community enhancements. The Foundation is committed to working in partnership with like-minded organizations in the broader community.
Essential Functions :
Ability to adhere to a comprehensive development program that includes major and planned gifts, annual and foundation giving, corporate sponsorships, prospect research, and volunteer engagement.
Utilize historical data to define prospective donors’ ability to give along with the Executive Director.
Manage relationships with donors and solicit donations from them on behalf of the Foundation.
Develop strategies to increase donations from current supporters through retention efforts.
Manage incoming donations (record data and generate acknowledgment letters) in a timely manner.
Support future capital projects with follow-up on fundraising plan initiatives and timelines for task-related duties supervised by the Executive Director of the Foundation.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, or Associate's degree in Marketing/related field
2-3 years in a development office for a non-profit or senior living facility marketing or administration office.
Ability to achieve goals set forth and amend monthly updates and stewardship move management to the Executive Director of Fellowship Foundation.
Ability to respond and work with a mature population, contributing to a warm, caring, and supportive environment for the enjoyment of the residents/clients.
Proficiency with Excel, and understanding of a sales/fundraising software platform and or capacity to learn on the jobExperience with special events that include: the Annual FellowshipLIFE Golf Event and Gala, Annual Wine & Dine, and various community outreach events.Experience with grant research and grant writing abilities for local sponsorship support and programming support.
Experience with a donor relations management system (Customer Relations Management) preferably Donor Perfect.
Experience with Annual Appeal campaigns, as well as written updates about Fellowship Foundation Activities & Upcoming Events to the Director of Life Enrichment and Executive Director for House of the Good Shephard for their monthly newsletter.
Ability to learn new online systems that manage donor relations and entries for reporting purposes to the Executive Director.
Work with The House of The Good Shephard Foundation Advisory Committee which consists of staff, board, and community members who provide support for fundraising initiatives approximately 8 times per year both virtually and in person at the Hackettstown office.
Serve as The House of the Good Shephard representative along with the community outreach coordinator at local county area networking events and create local partnerships for support of fundraising events for The House of the Good Shephard.
Ability to have both personable and professional relations with The House of the Good Shephard residential community through trusting relationships and stewardship, as you seek to ultimately grow support for Fellowship Foundation. This will mean actively socializing and cultivating relationships with residents around campus for at least a portion of your daily day-to-day activities.
This position will report to The Fellowship Foundation Executive Director both virtually and in-person with occasional work-day meetings in Basking Ridge (Corporate Offices).
