We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented EDM Operator to join our machine shop company. As an EDM Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise in EDM operations will contribute to the efficient and accurate manufacturing of high-quality products.
Job Description
- Set up, operate, and maintain EDM machines to perform electrical discharge machining on workpieces
- Prepare and mount electrodes, tooling, and workpieces in the EDM machine according to engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
- Ensure proper alignment and secure clamping to facilitate precise machining
- Read and interpret CNC programs to execute EDM operations
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface quality
- Identify and troubleshoot any deviations or issues, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on EDM machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and electrode/tooling replacement
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in operating and programming EDM machines, including Mitsubishi Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM
- Experience with Esprit Software
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and metrology techniques to verify part dimensions, tolerances, and surface quality
