Brief Summary of Job Description
The English department is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant to work on the project The Effects of Writing Course Directed Self-Placement on Student Retention and Success for the academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. May be in-person or remote.

Job Duties
The Graduate Research Assistant will assist Dr. Amanda Sladek in conducting primary research on the University’s writing course placement procedure. Specific duties may include (1) conducting interviews with instructors, (2) assisting in participant recruitment, (3) performing qualitative data analysis, and (4) co-presenting/co-authoring research results as desired.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and admission to an MA program at the University of Nebraska-Kearney for the 2023-2024 academic year. Must remain a full-time student in good standing throughout the duration of the assistantship. May be in-person or remote.

Preferred Qualifications
Admission to the English MA program at UNK, previous coursework and/or research experience in writing studies.

Physical Demands

Schedule
19 hours per week as assigned by the supervisor.
