Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Manager, Hot Springs AR Job at Confidential

Based in Hot Springs, AR and reporting to the Plant Manager, the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Manager is responsible for communication, mentoring, audit and compliance for health, safety, environmental and quality. The HSEQ Manager is responsible for maintaining and documentation with all local, state, and federal regulations with support from the Safety Supervisor and Environmental Compliance Manager. The ideal candidate for this position is experienced in both direct communication with chemical plant operators and maintenance as well as senior level leadership. Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry and/or oil & gas industries is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HS&E programs in the field

· Provide direct HSE supervision for new projects and processes, until operators are

fully trained and competent.

· Provide HSE training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures

· Advise on environmental and safety issues and compliance of current operations

· Participate as a first responder for HSE incidents and lead incident investigations

· Lead MOC, PSSR and PHA

· Maintain reports such as; hazard waste, used oil, manifest reports, right to know

reporting, SARA 313, Form R, SPCC, SWPPP, Security plan, new waste analysis, waste

minimization plan.

· Assist logistics manager in state DOT registrations, MCS-150 biennial review and reports

· Develop waste inventory practices and monitor waste profiles

· Support air emission permitting and annual calculations

· Maintain current regulatory knowledge and industry best practices through HSEQ

associations and seminars

· Lead internal audits, security assessments and improvements

· Lead implementation of ISO9001

· Oversee site Responsible Care initiatives

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

· Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma or Certificate or comparable

experience

· Minimum 5 years Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment

· Understanding of statistical analysis and demonstrated application of risk assessments

· Strong interpersonal skills and capable of establishing respect and credibility through

actions, communications, understanding and personal presence

· Self-starter and highly motivated with flexible to work in a small company atmosphere

Preferred Qualifications:

· Chemical industry experience highly preferred

· Experience with ISO9001, OHSAS 18001

· Previous experience as a Safety Supervisor in a Responsible Care Certified Company
