To assist with the day-to-day operations of The Animal Haven, Inc., a no-kill shelter for homeless and abandonded cats and dogs, under the direction of the Shelter Manager and the Assistant Shelter Manager.
The Animal Haven is searching for dedicated and compassionate individuals, who want to make a difference everyday working as a Kennel Assistant. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Feeding and caring for all cats and dogs at the shelter
- Cleaning the shelter and all of the animal areas in accordance with the shelter's cleaning protocols
- Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, sanitation and laundry rooms
- Medicating any sick animals as directed by the Shelter Manager
- Practicing safe animal handling (dog walking, cat handling)
- Assisting the public with respect to the adoption of animals
- Maintaining records regarding the shelter's animals and their adoption
- Following the work schedule as posted and maintaining accurate time records
- And most important, must love all animals!
Must be able to work BOTH morning and evening shifts, either Saturday OR Sunday and some holidays
Must be 21+ years old
