Maintenance Technician

As a member of our Team, you will be exposed to a wide variety of experiences and interact with tenants at our properties. Members of our maintenance team are responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance of our properties, completing service calls including preventative maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other property & grounds maintenance assignments.

Duties
1. Performs building maintenance tasks at our properties fulfilling preventative maintenance, service requests, capital improvements, and turn-over maintenance.

2. Craftsman quality skill level in general maintenance, carpentry, painting, electric repair, HVAC repair & plumbing repair and/or willingness to learn.

3. Completes maintenance tasks in a timely manner; reports start, progress & completion of each task.

4. Performs snow removal operations to include operating snow removal equipment and salting of properties.

5. Maintains constant awareness while on owned and managed properties to make immediate improvements as required. Makes recommendations to improve the overall appearance, efficiency & effectiveness at the properties to help achieve company and community goals.

6. Occasionally performs exterior maintenance and landscaping tasks including lawncare, pruning shrubs and trees, weeding, insect control and removal of clippings as required.

7. Follows all safety guidelines for the operation of tools and equipment as well as ensuring compliance with building, safety, and health codes.

8. On-Call and able to respond to after hour emergency calls and weather conditions at all properties.

9. Maintains positive relations with tenants, customers, staff, and the corporate office. Supports our continued growth by performing other related duties as assigned and contributing to the overall mission of the company as needed.

You Have
1. 2+ years working in property management, general maintenance, painting, carpentry, HVAC, electric, and/or plumbing.

2. Experience operating equipment & tools of the trade including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, and riding equipment.

3. Experience troubleshooting appliances and mechanical operating systems as well as following processes/instructions for repair.

4. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

You Might Also Have
1. Experience with multi-family properties and snow removal

You Should Be Able To
1. Frequently lift, move, or carry items weighing 50+ pounds.

2. Move about properties often including ascending/descending of stairs and ladders.

3. Bend, squat, kneel, twist and walk for periods of time while inspecting/addressing properties or equipment.

4. Frequently operate electronic devices, as well as communicate with tenants, vendors, and colleagues, and able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

5. Observe, inspect, and assess maintenance projects which includes travel to and from property locations on a regular basis.

2. Compensation is based on experience and is Performance Bonus eligible.
