Manufacturing Engineer – Reading, PA
We have an immediate opening at our 621 Brentwood Drive facility.
Hours are 8 am – 5 pm, Monday thru Friday.
Responsible for generating advanced engineering solutions for a wide variety of projects related to the manufacturing processes including but not limited to thermoform tooling, injection molding tooling, jigs, fixtures, manual and automated assembly equipment. Responsibilities include interfacing with various production departments as well as colleagues within the advanced manufacturing group to develop outstanding solutions. This position uses SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software to generate accurate solid and surface models as well as detailed drawings. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Analyze and support the manufacturability of new and existing products.
· Design, assemble, test, and debug manual, semi-automated and automated tooling.
· Usage of SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software to generate fully detailed solutions to engineering problems.
· Manage Advanced Manufacturing projects from initiation through design, manufacturing, and implementation.
· Attend engineering meetings and use other communication techniques to collect information needed to establish design specifications for each project.
· Develop new or improve existing Brentwood core manufacturing processes as assigned.
· Lead other engineers as required.
· Understand and apply relevant OSHA and CE machine safety standards.
· Follow established documentation procedures to create engineering drawings and project documentation.
· Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, engineers, machinists, and production personnel.
· Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems, specifically EPDM preferred.
· Occasional travel required.
· Execute Product Industrialization process as required.
Essential Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or Electro-Mechanical Engineer with three (3) to five (5) years of related experience; or an associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school with five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Apply oral and language capabilities to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, managers, clients, vendors, and customers.
· Ability to use appropriate engineering formulas and principles to calculate associated solutions to engineering problems. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Mastery of geometry, algebra, and trigonometry.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Required to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables with limited standardization.
