We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! This position will design and optimize processes supporting all aspects of production focusing on safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up new production processes focused on safety, quality, and productivity. The candidate should also have experience identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing solutions.

This is a full-time position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM; Friday, 7:45 AM - 3:30 PM.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating work stations and equipment and purchase of equipment
  • Recommend Manufacturing Process Improvement opportunities for plant operations including the best uses of automation to improve the business
  • Design and implement processes and measures to improve workplace safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products
  • Lead improvement teams to develop and implement manufacturing/business process improvements
  • Develop effective problem resolution plans using logical root-cause analysis techniques
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent execution of operational tasks
  • Establish and maintain standard work instructions to ensure consistent execution of workforce labor tasks
  • Establish time studies and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew
  • Develop capital equipment justifications to improve safety, quality, cost, and cycle times
  • Analyze work force utilization, facility layout and operational data including production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S) from four-year college or university; 3-6 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with hands-on shop floor support
  • Strong process improvement experience with cost reduction, machining, assembly operations, and welding operations
  • Experience in optimizing plant layout and workflow
  • Experience with machine tool equipment and machine shop processes
  • Experience with MS Office tools
