Position Overview

The Merchandising Assistant is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships with key accounts in the grocery channel. This position will collaborate with the Director of Customer Experience to support customer sales plans that anchor to Wonderstate’s annual grocery sales plan, and lead the implementation of the customer business plans with Wonderstate’s customers.

The ideal candidate will build sales by building relationships rooted in a sense of shared purpose. Core Responsibilities

  • Embody the Wonderstate brand to customers and consumers at every point of contact
  • Build meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with store buyers and associates.
  • Manage inventory effectively, place orders and ensure products are accurately marked, faced and stocked
  • Maintain the face of the brand across all points of sale including displays, tags, signage
  • Execute merchandising plans and product resets, working closely with store personnel to ensure accurate product set-up and signage
  • Execute in-store demos and events that will provide unique customer experiences and align with sales goals
  • Maintain CRM platform for critical customer interactions and requirements
  • Create timely monthly planograms and communicate those with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Provide store level insights to inform customer forecasts and ongoing business operations and strategic planning

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Coffee experience preferred with interest in specialty coffee required
  • 1-2 years of grocery experience preferred
  • Honor relationships within the team, gives and receives feedback respectfully, expresses gratitude to others, and actively contributes to a positive team environment
  • Ability to work independently as a remote team member
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Must reside in Madison area and have access to reliable auto transportation

Additional Details

  • Reports to: Director of Customer Experience
  • Schedule: 4 day week, 36 hours full time. Must be available 7AM - 4PM
  • Location: Based in Madison, Wisconsin
  • Coverage Area: Madison to Milwaukee
  • Physical demands include frequent driving, ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation and a safe driving record
