Overview:

• Perform all duties (repair, corrective, projects and PM’s) in an urgent, but safe manner.
• Develops and recommends changes to proactive programs to increase machine uptime.
• Utilize Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, and situational awareness to maintain a safe working environment for all.
• Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems on production equipment both modern and depreciated.
• Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders.
• PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting), components (CPU back planes, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet).
• Mentor junior technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals, as well as foster an environment of cooperation and comradery in the team.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationships across all levels in the organization.
• Strong demonstrated ability with understanding electrical schematics, control logic, volt and ohm meter use.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Occasionally required to handle up to 75 pounds.
• Will be required to drive powered material handling equipment.
• Constant standing and movement (bending, stooping, lifting, and hammering) to perform tasks.
• Use of overhead hoist or lift truck will be required in making some set-ups as well as the use of air tools.

Working Conditions:

• Work area is climate controlled, but will be required to work outside 10-20% of the time.
• Job function consists of standing, walking, stooping and bending 70% of the time.
• Will work occasionally with water, coolant, oil, chips, and noise.
• Vapors from chemicals and/or adhesive are also present.

Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills:

• A minimum of 5 years experience as a multi-craft technician maintaining and repairing electro/mechanical/electronic manufacturing and facilities equipment.
• Experience in programmable logic controllers (PLC) to include writing ladder logic programs as well as using them to troubleshoot equipment and processes.
• Experience in maintaining hydraulic, electronic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience rigging large equipment

Education/Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two year Technical Mechatronics Degree preferred
• Must have a forklift drive certification, and possess good skills in forklift operations.

Preferred Skills:

• Resistance welding, MIG welding
• Formalized TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) culture
• Fanuc robot
• Tooling set up/operation
• Major PLC platforms (ex. Allen Bradley or Siemen)
• Metal cutting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
