We are seeking candidates to join our Sheeting Department as a Sheeter Operator Trainee for 3rd Shift (11 PM to 7 AM) ). JOB SUMMARY: Operate sheeter, including general and preventative maintenance, minor repairs which include adjustments and sharpening of cutting knives. Monitor edge of sheet to ensure a clean cut. Maintain production and roll inventory. Apply QMS Principles and techniques effectively.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Operate sheeter in a proper and efficient manner.
- Set up and adjust machine to correct sheet size.
- Set counter for accurate sheet count.
- Load rolls of paper and set cut to correct size.
- Perform general and preventative maintenance, make minor repairs and keep machine clean. Maintain entire work area, clean, orderly and safe.
- Maintain accurate records of production and paper inventory.
- Stage rolls of paper to be processed.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervision.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or similar environment preferred.
- Experience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts preferred.

SKILLS:
- LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s License; Company issued Clamp Truck Operator’s License
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
- Schedules can be up to 12-hour shifts Mondays – Sundays (particularly if mode/continuous run schedule). However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends for coverage and be punctual while doing so.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing continuously, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
- Awkward and/or repetitive movements
- Ability to squat, reach above shoulder and walk frequently
- Ability to bend/stoop, climb, reach at waist or lower, twist, stretch, carry, kneel, grasp, fingering, crouching, and push/pull (force up to 38 lbs.) occasionally
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires use of both feet on a continuous basis
- Requires use of both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive actions on a continuous basis
- Ability to read, write, hear, see, speak and have agility on a continuous basis
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices
- Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
- Work in areas of fluctuating temperature and loud noises
- PPE required: Steel-toed/safety footwear, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cut resistant Safety Gloves, Hair Net, Beard Net
