REGULAR POSTING: May 10, 2023 – May 30, 2023 CONTRACT DAYS: Two hundred thirty (230) days

POSITION GOAL:

SCSC seeks an educational leader to serve as Principal of Silver Creek High School. The ideal candidate will:

oProvide leadership and a vision for continuous improvement in all areas associatedwith students, teachers, and the learning process for grades 9-12 including, but notlimited to, all activities associated with:

oMaintaining a safe learning environment.

oQuality instruction that leads to high student achievement.

oBuilding a collaborative culture and enhancing community and parentinvolvement.

oServing as an exemplary role model for all stakeholders.

LICENSE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

•Valid Indiana state certification in school administration.

•Master's degree in education or school administration.

•Minimum of five (5) years combined experience as a classroom teacher and building-level administrator.

•Effective communication skills.

•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, andcommunity stakeholders.

•Proven success as a transformative leader who is culturally competent.

  • Model and demonstrate a growth mindset and reflective practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively set and measure goals and produce results.
  • Ability to communicate a vision of academic excellence to all stakeholder groups.
  • Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of school administration and of current educational trends in curriculum and instructionRESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

● Demonstrates knowledge of special education laws

● Meet all local, state and federal guidelines and timelines

● Coordinate classroom experiences with the general education teacher

● Communicate effectively with general education teachers, administrators and parents

● Use appropriate instructional activities that reflect the learning styles of students

● Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and goals

● Provide progress reports at least each 9 week reporting period

● Supervise, train, coordinate, and monitor paraprofessionals in their responsibilities

● Collaborate with students, parents, and others to develop appropriate IEPs

● Create a respectful classroom learning environment

● Develop behavior intervention plans through the FBA process

● Implement and train others on the students’ behavior intervention plans

● Provide hygiene, feeding, and any other assistance needed, as trained

● Train and maintain a currently “trained” status in Safe Crisis Management

● Attend all required professional development activities and meetings

● Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and ethics

● Collaborate with the job coach in developing plans for students to gain job experiences

● Maintain confidentiality

● Perform other duties as assigned

● Maintain punctual and regular attendance

LICENSE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Intense Interventions
  • Will also consider a license in Mild Interventions
  • Prior experience preferred, but not necessary

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand,

walk, sit, reach, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee may at times be required

to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 points. Specific

vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral

vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be
