We are hiring immediately for a Full-Time Programmer Analyst to join the Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials as part of the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX 77030. This is a Hybrid position working mostly remotely with one or two days in the office. In this position, you would develop and maintain specialized web-based applications that support clinical research. Great opportunity for an individual who has solid experience with the Microsoft web development technology stack, focused on the Asp.Net framework, using Visual Basic .Net, and experience with the language used to work with SQL Server data and being able to transact SQL.

Position Summary:
The Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials (CCCT) is a large, full service clinical trials and data management center for NIH, CDC & privately sponsored clinical trials. Position applies programming and analysis knowledge and skills obtained from a concentrated degree program in computer science as well as work experience to develop and maintain specialized web-based applications that support clinical research. The position requires interpersonal skills necessary to interact with CCCT clients and staff, from graduate assistants to principle investigators, to ensure successful requirements analyses and the development of applications that meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Consults with CCCT PI’s and Project Managers for each study and analyzes requirements to develop and maintain Asp.Net web-based applications that support all clinical research activities.
- Assists in creating electronic case report forms / surveys using appropriate tools.
- Designs, develops and deploys MS SQL Server databases to support all clinical research activities.
- Designs, develops and deploys reports using Microsoft tools integrated with MS SQL Server databases to meet study data analysis and reporting requirements.
- Ensures that the specification provided are thorough and detailed in order to avoid problems in coding development.
- Adheres to the departmental standards for program specifications and ensures the documents are approved by the client and supervisor.
- Thoroughly and adequately tests all functions of the program prior to submitting it to the lead analyst or manager for quality review and verification.
- Prepares the proper paperwork and follows correct procedures for implementing new programs or changes in production.
- Maintains existing Asp.Net applications supporting clinical research activities.

Certification/Skills:
- Experience with development of applications that support departmental activities, using Microsoft software development tools and languages: Visual Studio, SSMS, Asp.Net, Visual Basic.Net, C# (optional) as well as Microsoft Transact SQL. Familiarity with electronic case report form (eCRF) concepts.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
- Three and a half years of programming experience.
Preferred:
- Experience in requirements analysis, as well as in development and maintenance of web-based applications and RESTful services using Microsoft tools and languages: Visual Studio, SSMS, Asp.net, VB.net, C# (optional), MS Transact SQL and SQL Server database development and maintenance.
Physical Requirements:Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.Security Sensitive:This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
