Receptionist/Optometric Technician Job at Northlake Eye

As a small eye care office, only applicants with strong customer service, clerical, and technical skills will be considered. Furthermore, we’re looking for someone with the following skillsets: excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good organizational skills. A flexible work schedule is important as this position requires weekends!
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide first-class customer service with every patient encounter.
- Display a positive, professional attitude while serving patient needs and working with fellow team members.
- Actively manage the front desk by performing the following tasks:
- Answering phone calls and checking the office voicemail
- Scheduling, confirming, and managing patient appointments
- Checking and replying to messages received through Doctible and the office email.
- Learning and utilizing various online insurance systems to check patient eligibility and submit insurance claims.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
- Operate the following optometric equipment:
- Automated visual acuity chart
- Clarifye
- iCare tonometer
- Automated lensometer
- Visual field
- OCT
- Optomap digital retinal imaging
- Clean, open up, and shut down all optometric equipment and exam rooms.
- General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by owners.
Skills and abilities
- A positive, friendly attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to get to and from the practice.
- Flexibility and motivation to accomplish tasks and take initiative within the practice.
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
- Ability to arrive at work at least 15 minutes before patient care is scheduled.
- Desire to gain optometric knowledge and training.
- Initiative to actively complete office tasks and work towards achieving practice goals.
- The desire to build and grow a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees and team members.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
