Job Summary
TriLeaf is seeking a full time, mid-level to senior-level Project/Environmental Scientist with 3 to 5 years of experience conducting NEPA Reports, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs), Property Condition Assessments, or similar for our office in Schaumburg IL.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Assistant Project Manager will assist with supervision of the staff and act as a point of contact for clients that report to the TriLeaf Schaumburg, IL office. The associated tasks are summarized below:

Assist in developing client relationships, specifically those in your Area of Responsibility.

Assist Project Manager to supervise, train, lead, and direct the activities of personnel

Perform semi-annual performance reviews of all direct reports
-
Accept and delegate environmental projects from a subset of TriLeaf's clientele
-
Perform QA/QC on projects prior to submission
The Senior Environmental Scientist Phase I ESA and Property Condition Assessment responsibilities will include conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Property Condition Assessments (both fieldwork and reporting) in accordance with ASTM E1527 and ASTM E2018, respectively. Property types can include anything from small wireless installations to medium-sized offices, to large industrial facilities.
NEPA responsibilities also include both home and field-related responsibilities. Prior to conducting the site visit, a preliminary screening is conducted of listed and/or proposed threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, National Wetland Inventory Maps (NWI), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) etc. In addition, correspondence is conducted with Tribal, federal, state, and local agencies in accordance with FCC Rules Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1, Subpart I, rule sections 1.1301 to 1.1319. Subsequent to these activities, an individual must be able to interpret the complied information and prepare a NEPA report.
Successful performance of the position is characterized by the following key performance indicators:

Completion of assigned deliverables by the 'due date' indicated in TriLeaf's proprietary tracking system

Proactive communication with the supervising Project Manager, including anticipation of delays and/or challenges in the successful completion of a project

Providing constructive feedback on TriLeaf processes; questioning procedures (constructively) to encourage innovation and process improvement

To be considered, the resume of the applicant must show that the applicant possesses the following qualifications/skills:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Studies, Geology, Engineering or related fields

At least 5 years' experience successfully performing NEPAs, Phase I ESAs, and/or PCAs
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%
