ESM Prep is an educational services firm seeking energetic and engaging Academic Mentors excited to work at the intersection of education and business. Mentors will assist students preparing for college by readying them for the ACT and SAT exams, tutoring multiple academic subjects, and mentoring students through the college search and application process.

Location

We are looking for candidates in West Los Angeles (Brentwood, Beverly Hills, etc.) for in-person tutoring 2-3 times per week.

Our Philosophy

We call our tutors Academic Mentors because we prioritize holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching, and/or coaching.

Compensation:

Full-Time Academic Mentors are compensated based on a hybrid of monthly salary and hourly pay for work with students. Depending on the volume of work with students, total annual compensation typically ranges from $60,000 - $80,000, but can exceed $100,000 after several years with the company. Full-time Academic Mentors also receive medical benefits, dental benefits, and access to the company 401(k).

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience teaching ACT/SAT. A past score or a score from a diagnostic test taken during the application process may be required.
• SSAT and ISEE experience is a plus
• Additional expertise in high school subjects such as algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus, chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, economics, history, English, and Spanish
• Ability to teach AP Computer Science and AP Economics is a plus
• Bachelor's degree‍
• Available full-time. Tutoring usually occurs on weekday evenings (after 3pm) and/or on weekends. Typical work schedule is Sunday-Thursday.
• Available to tutor through June 2024 or longer
• Reliable internet access
