Supervisor, VMS Accounts Receivable – Job Description
The Supervisor, VMS Accounts Receivable will report to the Billing Manager. Supervisor, VMS AR will work with the AR Specialist team lead to oversee account decision-making process regarding AR related issues and lead the creation of team plans and developments.
Essential Functions:
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of direct reports.
- Interview, hire and provide training to new VMS AR Team Leads/Specialist.
- Perform 1:1 meeting with direct reports on a regular basis.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Be an example for our people by demonstrating Medical Solutions’ Core Values in everything you do.
- Support a positive work environment that fosters team performance through own work and behavior.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of VMS billing rules.
- Monitor aged receivables to ensure goals are being met, working with AR Team Lead to distribute work amongst AR Specialist.
- Prepare aging KPI’s to management on a regular basis.
- Provide feedback to VMS Billing Supervisors regarding billing trends and opportunities for coaching.
- Build a strong relationship with the Cash Application Team and work together to improve processes and ensure timely application of payments.
- Assist AR Team Lead with referrals to the Credit and Collection team.
- Collaborate with Contract Billing Analyst team to identify trends and process enhancements.
- Manage relationships with our Vendors to facilitate invoice resolution and strengthen partnerships.
- Ensure AR team understands the importance of documentation and help AR Team Lead audit documentation.
- Work with Billing Manager on implementation of new and existing projects.
- Provide coaching, direction and mentoring to team members through regular individual and team meetings.
- Support broader Company initiatives and collaborate with other functional areas to achieve these.
- Ensures adherence to scheduled work tasks, policies, and procedures.
- Work with Billing Manager to evaluate and enhance existing VMS AR processes and controls.
Job Qualifications:
- At least one year of accounts receivable/billing experience required.
- At least one year of leadership experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong focus on Excel.
- Work with a sense of urgency to ensure collection of receivables.
- Ability to exercise sound and timely judgment and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Resourcefulness, common sense, and flexibility
