This role is part of the Human Interface Design team in Apple Services, which includes media products, creator tools, cloud and commerce services, and productivity apps. Writers on this teamwork on feature development and future designs through the lens of language. We’re searching for a UX Writer to create new and better experiences across our services. Specifically, you’ll focus on shaping the future of what TV means at Apple and for our customers. You’ll work on narrative strategy, concept new features, define and evolve product voice, and develop and maintain interfaces.
Key Qualifications
- Have experience solving problems with language, with the ability to shape copy quickly to tell a product’s story — both inside and outside the user interface.
- Can write from scratch, edit existing copy, and think beyond the written word with input from multiple team members.
- Are able to maintain product copy over time, while simultaneously generating language for new features or initiatives.
- Participate actively in iterative design processes, both providing and receiving group critique.
- Oscillate between left- and right-brained writing, from storytelling to systematic implementation.
- Collaborate and establish relationships across product functions, demonstrating an ability to circulate and advocate for language.
- Develop and defend well-informed points of view, while also remaining open to adjustments based on input from others.
- Are curious about every step of a user journey, from error states to success criteria.
- Enjoy learning from and contributing to style guides and shared nomenclature implemented across Apple hardware and services.
- Can manage several projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Think long-term, but can act and make decisions quickly.
- Are comfortable asking questions and tracking down answers.
- Have an inexhaustible attention to detail.
Description
The Writing arm of our Human Interface Design team works across services and products, including ones that are currently available and ones that are just barely being imagined. As a UX Writer embedded within the tvOS Design Team, you’ll be responsible for many things, including: - Working closely with Human Interface Design leadership to develop design visions and strategies. - Developing and communicating design solutions that coalesce narratives and storytelling around customer insights, data, business requirements, and brand values. - Working on feature development, naming, user flows, product logic, and education. - Boiling down complex systems into coherent, concise, and compelling narratives, interface copy, user experiences, and brand strategies. - Working with cross-functional partners and senior leadership to define our product roadmap. - Spending time with QA, Legal, and Localization teams to ensure content appears properly for every audience. - Addressing feedback and improving the performance of our content and customer experience.
Education & Experience
BA/BS or equivalent experience

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 and $269,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
