QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: A Four (4) year degree in Business or qualified experience
- Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in building relationships, sales
- Madison County, IL residency requirements must be met within 6 months of hire
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiates and develops business contacts for the purpose of assisting business and jobseeker customers
- Provides businesses with information on available incentives, such as job tax credits, On-The-Job Training (OJT), Incumbent Worker Training, Apprenticeships and other recruitment assistance.
- Coordinates job fairs/hiring events for local businesses.
- Coordinates/Administers assessment testing for businesses and organizations
- Works directly with technology related recruitment tools, such as Illinois Job Link, Illinois Work Net and Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS).
- Negotiates, develops, administers, through completion of On-The-Job Training, Incumbent Worker Training, and Work Experience contracts.(Approves OJT, IWT agreements.)
- Supervises the department’s Account Clerk III to insure that all contracts and obligations are processed correctly.
- Act as the lead for business services activities by coordinating, assigning and reviewing the Business Services Representative’s assignments and quality of work.
- Assists in the coordination of the American Job Center Business Services Teams
- Interacts with the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) membership and promotes the board’s mission and activities as directed.
- Assists with LWDB committees as assigned.
- Works with area organizations (chambers of commerce, etc.) to provide information about Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs and services, including public speaking and presentations. Also, attends events and participates in committees related to workforce development issues as assigned
- Solicits information from area businesses on employment and training needs as well as applicable WIOA services
- Gathers local, state, and federal employment information/websites for labor market information and employment/workforce related trends
- Reports labor market information to area businesses and organizations as needed
- Assists Program and Planning Manager in providing rapid response services to businesses that are closing or reducing employment
- Assists in the development of grants related to work-based learning.
- Works with businesses to develop jobs and contractual agreements for specific customers, including customized training, work experience, and incumbent worker training.
- Performs follow up with businesses and new hires as needed
- Create and maintain a social media presence for the department.
- Coordinate with Illinois WorkNet Staff to implement Virtual Job Fairs locally.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
