Building & Construction Certification Quality Manager
Intertek is searching for a Quality Manager to join our Building & Construction Certification team in our Arlington Heights, IL; Middleton, WI; Elmendorf, TX; or York, PA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Quality Management!
The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of internal and 3rd party audits; writing and following-up on corrective actions; and indirectly overseeing the quality improvement initiatives for the global B&C Certification team. There is some cross-functionality/coordination with the Intertek Electrical Certification team.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate, maintain, and expand as needed all accreditations, certifications, and listings for B&C Certification
- Develop standard operating procedures, work instructions, forms, and local operating procedures
- Report audit findings to appropriate management with request for root cause analysis and corrective action
- Review and approve root cause and correction action plan. Perform follow up as needed
- Close out and maintain audit files
- Prepare and submit required monthly reports to the Certification Operations Manager(s) and VP Global Certification
- Represent Intertek during 3rd part audits/assessments
- Advise management on training and implementation needs
- Coordinate and provide B&C quality training, and assist in the development thereof
- Monitor, control, and consult in support of compliance and continuous improvement efforts
- Participate in and support periodic quality system management review and internal audits
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- High School or GED
- 2+ years’ experience in quality assurance or operations
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific, technical, and engineering reports, standards and journals
- Successful completion of auditor training, ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17020, highly preferred
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified as CMQ/OE, CQA, CQT, or CQE preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format
- Microsoft Office proficiency; SharePoint knowledge preferred
