This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Forklift Operator. The role is for our Fall River, MA location. This role will provide material support in the sheet metal department by utilizing a forklift and a crane to move steel around.
Shift: 1st (6:30am-3:00pm) overtime as needed
Pay Rate: $19.00 HR
Your responsibilities will include
Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing bundles of steel in stock; recording location of inventory.- Locates steel by using micrometers and steel guides, verifying gauge and steel type
- Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory
- Handling returns by completing a safe assessment and other required communication.
- Receives all documentation from steel deliveries.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; and notifying maintenance with any issues.
- Lift 35 pounds consistently and stand for extended periods of time
Minimum requirements
High School Diploma/GED- 1+ years of materials or inventory experience
- 1+ years of forklift operator experience
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred skills and experiences
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Effective communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
