The College of Music at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Senior Administrative Coordinator (Admissions and Awards) to facilitate the processing of awards, aid in the recruitment of new students and assist in the retention of continuing students.

Position Overview
The College of Music at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Senior Administrative Coordinator (Admissions and Awards) to facilitate the processing of awards, aid in the recruitment of new students and assist in the retention of continuing students. The Senior Administrative Coordinator for Admissions and Awards provides guidance to prospective students, continuing students, faculty and staff on financial aid issues, referring them to offices in other divisions as appropriate. The coordinator will assist with recruitment events (including auditions), present information sessions for prospective students and their families and assist with the processing of admissions applications.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and five years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple

nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments

Job Duties

o
Process scholarships based on faculty recommendations/budgetary considerations: award letters (send offers, receive acceptances); waivers, payment authorizations. Prepare disbursement authorization forms for Foundation accounts and assist with summarizing spending each semester/academic year.

o
Audit scholarships based on registration each long semester including grade point average, lesson participation, ensemble participation, credit hour requirement and ensure payment of scholarships and receipt of waiver (as appropriate).

o
Advise students with financials, as needed, to verify awards and waivers have posted correctly.

o
Communicate scholarship probation/cancellation status information to scholarship students and their faculty mentors.

o
Oversee the process of acknowledging scholarship donors, ensuring that student thank you letters are collected, corrected, and sent in a timely manner.

o
Other duties as assigned by the COM Dean.

o
Assist with recruitment events (including auditions), present information sessions for prospective students and their families and assist with the processing of admissions applications.
